Mailing List

Instructions for all our lists: please subscribe to both the "Team" list for program information, and the list for your individual team. If you have any questions or difficulties email mbartlett@team-broward.com

To make everybody's life a little easier we have multiple mailing lists. Using a list means you don't have to add everybody's email to your message to reach either your team or the program: you email everybody in one shot. For instance any mail sent to team@team-broward.com goes to everyone on the "Team" mailing list- all the subscribers. If you got an email from the list it means we've added you, and that you're a subscriber.

We also have a list for each team as follows: 12Uteam@team-broward.com; 14Uteam@team-broward.com; and HighSchoolteam@team-broward.com.

It is important to Team Broward that we use these lists- all the mail is archived and it keeps all our communication in one place. If you go to the main page for your lists you can see all the messages. Also, it means that the coaches don't have to add keeping email lists current to their responsibilities- it is up to the players and families to subscribe to both their team and the overall program lists. You can have as many email addresses as you want on these lists.

The lists are subscription only, and only for team and family members. Be sure to add "@team-broward.com to your approved senders.

The lists are currently unmoderated, which means if you send an email to the list, or post, it will appear in everybody's inbox just as you wrote it.  Sometimes organizations need to go to a moderated list, but for us that will be a last resort if someone creates either a posting or atmosphere that is not conducive to the purpose of the list, which is to raise the level of communication between all of us who are involved in Team Broward. Moderation slows things down as the moderator has to approve a post before it goes out to the list.

You can only post to the list if you're a subscriber. That means if you have multiple email addresses they all have to be subscribed. You can add as many emails as you like, but you do have to post from a subscribed address.

So, please do two things- subscribe to the "Team" mailing list to get announcements and communicate with the entire program. And, please subscribe to the mailing list for the team you are with. The separate lists and links are below. If you have any problem or want to be subscribed you can always email mbartlett@team-broward.com and I will be happy to help you.

Some More Mailing List Information

If the traffic on the list gets heavy you may want to go to the membership options page and select "digest". What is a digest? If you select the digest version of a mailing list, you don't receive the messages as they are posted to the list. Instead, you receive them once a day in "digest" form.  I would suggest not choosing digest, at least for now, until we see exactly how the list is used. If it is important things like practice cancellations or changes you won't want to wait to receive a digest.

A couple of tips: if you reply to a message, "snip" the earlier posts so that the messages don't get longer and longer. If you use "Out of Office" auto-replies on the account you subscribe with, and you get a message from the list, sender will receive that auto-reply. You should be able to control any auto-responders to ignore list messages. Keep individual threads or discussions 'off-list'- mailing lists don't mean you can't have a private dialog with another list member.

Be sure to add "team-broward.com" to your approved senders.
